Introduction to the UK Data Service (PGRs)
Event box

Tue 20 January, 2026, 11:00-12:00.
This is online training. It is intended for PGRs at any stage of their research. The course introduces you to the UK Data Service (UKDS), one of the best resources that you may never have known (until now)!
The UKDS is an excellent location to find relevant data/datasets for AHSS & Social Sciences research. If you need access to economic, population and social research data in the UK, this is the principal repository you need to investigate! It is also the place where you must deposit your data here if you are ESRC funded.
Additionally, it is a service that provides excellent training, learning and workshops for researchers also on a host of essential topics. This will be vital for your research and to train you as a researcher!
It is vital to know about UKDS for access controls if you plan to share your data there. And if you have sensitive research and are ESRC funded there may be particular research data implications regarding the storage, hosting and sharing of your data.
Please sign up for this training. It will open new avenues of discovery for your research, as well as skilling up also!
For PGRs students please register via MyFuture to book a place.
This course will only be offered once in semester 1, 2026.
