Declare it, prepare it, share it! Sharing your research data the right way (PGR)

Wed 24 April, 2024: 11:00AM-12:30 BST (ONLINE)

This is a brand NEW course. It is intended for PGR students at any stage of their study. It will be delivered online.

Did you know that when you share your research data you increase your citation, your visibility, and the impact of your research? It can also lead to collaboration opportunities and your research can find itself in new contexts. Good things come from sharing your data. Note also that certain funders which insist that you must share your data.

But what constitutes your research data? Where can you share it? How do you share it? Is it sensitive? Will it require access controls when sharing? Where is the optimal place to share this data?

  • This is for all those PGR who would like to develop their understanding of how to be able to share their research data which they have generated.

  • It will provide a relevant overview of data repositories and aims to make this area less daunting for you

  • This training will cover informed consent, metadata and documentation of your research data, selecting the right repository to share your data and selecting the right access for your data

  • Sign up. Remember, declare it (identify what's your data), prepare it (correct file formats and associated documentation) and share it (the right repository for you).

This course will only be offered once in semester 1, 2024. Book early as places are limited.
