Thu 4 April 2024: 17:00-19:00 BST (IN PERSON EVENT)

Auditorium, McClay Library

  • This is a brand NEW course. It is intended for PGR students at any stage of their study
  • It will explain the concept of research data, defining what is meant by data. Research data usually associated with quantitative data e.g. tables, charts, figures, stats, numbers, especially large sets of metrics/numbers. But research data can be qualitative too, such as reflective diaries, photos, text, interview transcripts, focus groups, digital data etc.
  • Did you know that when you share your research data you increase your citation, your visibility, and the impact of your research? It can also lead to collaboration opportunities and your research can find itself in new contexts
  • Good things come from sharing your data. Note also that certain funders which insist that you must share your data

This is an essential course if you want to discover what your “research data” is from your thesis and how to share it. If you plan to share your data, what can be shared? What is the best repository to use to share this data? Should you embargo your data, redact it, impose access controls on your data?
This course is aimed primarily at all PGR students.  This course is however, only offered ONCE in semester 1, 2024.

Please book early to secure a place. LIMITED SEATING. Book via MyFuture
