Pure Class! Training on Pure and the Research Portal

Pure is the system that is used to upload and make visible online your research articles, note any prizes you have won, record any prestigious activities and upload your datasets and electronic thesis. Every PGR student has a profile in Pure. This expires when you complete your studies.

You need to know how to use Pure to increase your visibility as a researcher, to improve your citation, to upload your e-thesis and, thus, be eligible for graduation. This session will provide you with a practical workshop of how to use Pure, what to update on your personal profile, how to create records in Pure. It will outline how to use Queen’s Research Portal – the public facing webpage of Pure – and why you should use it to get free, open access research articles and datasets to help you in your study.

This training session is a hands-on workshop that provides information on Pure and the Research Portal. All Postgraduate Research students will have an account on Pure, which is used to capture your research activities and outputs at Queen's.  This training session will address the following topics:

  • Pure - what is it? Who uses it? Why is it important? How to customise your profile?
  • Research Portal - what is it? Why don't I use it?! Benefits of using it? How to search using it?
  • All PGR students are encouraged to attend this very useful workshop.

This course is aimed primarily at PGR students.  If you are in the first or second year of your PhD, it is strongly advised that you attend this class as soon as possible.

Please login to MyFuture to book a place. Training will be delivered via MS Teams.
